About Story Made Yarns
Welcome to the Maker's Forest
Story Made Yarns is the passion project of Alexis Hoy, knitwear designer, writer and artist. Story Maker: an illustrated book of knitting, fibre and fable is Alexis's first book under the Story Made label, and will be available in Fall 2022. Part novel, pattern book, and transdisciplinary art, Story Maker defies categorization. The folktale-inspired novella includes 10 full colour illustrations and 12 patterns inspired by the events of the story.
Launching simultaneously is Story Made Yarns' limited edition, Ontario-grown and milled line of yarns to accompany the Story Maker patterns, as well as project bags and other accessories featuring Story Maker artwork.
Alexis is an Ontario-based knitwear designer, writer, and artist. She has been working with yarn for almost as long as she can remember and fibre has slowly taken over her life. The founder of the late, great Guelph Yarn Club, she regularly lectures on a range of yarny topics from technique to history. She lives with her husband, three sons, many animals, and an embarrassing number of plants on a small century+ farm that they are working to bring back to life. You can read more of her real-life stories on the Story Made blog.
