Superwash might seem like a strange choice for a laceweight yarn. Can you imagine putting your painstakingly knit and blocked lace shawl in the washing machine for a good spin? Me neither. But apart from its washability, superwash wool has properties that actually suit it beautifully to lace knitting. "Superwash" means that the fibre has had its cuticle chemically stripped or altered. This process destroys the scales on wool so that it won't felt. A byproduct of removing the scales is that wool loses some of its elasticity and ability to bounce back into shape - and when you want to block something as tightly as most lace knitting, this is a great feature. Superwash wool also has increased lustre and drape, so that once you've finished all your tiny stitches, they are sure to shine.
A note on colour: Although I do my very best to capture the colours of the yarns accurately, differences in lighting, display settings, and computer screens can affect how you see the colours represented. A good way to double check that you're getting the colour you expect is to visit the yarn's Ravelry page and check out others' pictures of the colourway you're after.
